Hey all!
So I've been scouring the interwebs looking for some dish on tomorrow night's first performance show and have found a few tasty tidbits from a few different sources. If you don't want to be spoiled, skip this post!
So there's nothing concrete on partnerships yet as they haven't as yet taped the performance show. In previous seasons, the performance show was taped on Monday night, but it looks like they've moved it to Tuesday this year. The Television Without Pity forums usually have the performers and their dance assignments posted fairly quickly after taping is finished. I'll keep an eye over there tonight and post here as soon as they come up.
**UPDATE** Here we are, fresh from the TWOP forums, the pairings and dances for tomorrow night!
Tony & Paris - Hip Hop - Napoleon & Tabitha
Evan & Randi - Jazz - Tyce Diorio
Vitolio & Asuka - Broadway - Tyce Diorio
Kupono & Ashley - ? - Wade Robson (I'm assuming it's Contemporary)
Jason & Caitlyn - Bollywood
Ade & Melissa - Contemporary - Mandy Moore
Philip & Jeanine - Hip Hop - Napoleon & Tabitha
Maks & Kayla - Samba - Louis Van Amstel
Jonathan & Karla - Cha Cha - Louis Van Amstel
Brandon & Janette - Waltz - ?
Some very exciting news about the choreographers though! Looks as though Shankers is on the judging panel tomorrow night and we will see routines from Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels AND Wade Robson! All in one night! I definitely felt a significant Shane Sparks absence last year and hopefully now that Wade isn't workng on that terrible Criss Angel/Cirque show anymore he'll have more time for us! **UPDATE** Apparently this was not to be. Only Wade is featured tomorrow night, but I'm very excited that Kupono gets to do his piece!
In general spoilery-ness (not Top 20 related)- other choreographers we're slated to see this season include Louis Van Amstel (Dancing with the Stars), Stacey Tookey (So You Think You Can Dance Canada) and the return of Brian Friedman! I can't remember if Brian did any routines last season or not, but his stuff was always good. And so glad to see Stacey Tookey get some US recognition!
Other than that, anything I've read thus far on partnerships is too wishy washy to be sure, so I think I'll wait until the TWOP spoilers go up. I'll update this post as soon as they do.
Cheers!
