SYTYCD - Top 14 Results!

So I think we've all clearly determined by now that I'm not a fan of doing to the results show recaps! It's true. Like the audition shows, I find the results shows a whole lot of filler when we're really there for one thing - okay maybe two - the opening group number and the results.

Subsequently, while I'm on my own here with the blog, the results shows are going to be relegated to 'recaplet' status. Sort of like an abridged version of a regular recap. I'll do my best to get all the songs used in the solos (missed them this time around) and post those as I know there's a few of you that come here looking to find the music.

So, back to the Top 14 guillotine!

The opening number was pretty cool for a Broadway piece. I'm not generally a fan of the Broadway genre, but this was pretty neat with the picture frame manipulations. Good job, Tyce!

After we run through the previous evenings' performances, our bottom three are Karla and Vitolio, Kayla and Kupono, and Phillip and Jeanine. A little surprising, but I think we could all see where this was going to end up, right? There's an obvious choice here.

Solos were up next, and for the most part they were pretty good. With one exception; I don't know what he was thinking, but Kupono totally phoned it in. I remember thinking 'Man, you are so lucky that you're a judge favourite and Vitolio's in the bottom 3 with you, 'cause if either of those weren't the case, you'd be saying buh-bye'. Risky, risky behaviour.

After a performance from Kelly Clarkson (girl is pretty spunky, non? I'm not a huge fan, but I like watching her perform.) the judges are back with results. Girls are up first and Karla's going home. On to the boys and - after justifiably tearing a strip off Kupono - Vitolio's headed out.

I think we can all agree that it was expected as soon as they entered the Bottom 3. It was the third time for both of them and they were both there with different partners as well. So, not so surprising after all.

So there's the recaplet, better late than never. Keep your eyes peeled for Spoilery Bits tomorrow night, as soon as I get somewhat confirmed info, I'll post it here.

And a belated Happy 4th of July to our American readers. Hope you all had an excellent long weekend.

Cheers!
