So, I was flipping through the channels last night, trying to find something to watch while I did the dishes (that's right kids - no dishwasher at Chez Kim!) and came across Larry King on CNN. The discussion of the evening was all things political, as per usual.
Here's where my mind boggles; In amongst 3 other seemingly legitimate left and right wing commentators was Stephen Baldwin.
Stephen Baldwin.
Stephen Baldwin - he who won our hearts in such epic films as 'Half Baked', 'The Sex Monster' and as a bumbling Barney Rubble in 'The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas'. Stephen Baldwin - most recently seen on Donald Trump's 'Celebrity Apprentice' which is a fine addition to his resume of D List celebrity reality TV (in case you didn't know, he's also been on 'Celebrity Fear Factor' and 'Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge' (?) ).
**Side note - on checking out Stephen Baldwin's imdb page, he's listed as an actor in over 75 films. Quite seriously, I recognized all of four titles. **
So here's my question: Would anyone in their right mind take political advice from Stephen fucking Baldwin? Really? And what the hell, CNN? You're supposed to be America's Most Trusted News Source and you're asking Stephen Baldwin to be on a panel of pundits? What the fuck? It's not exactly difficult to find qualified journalists who are willing to offer an opinion these days, but no, you choose Stephen Baldwin.
I don't really have anything against Stephen Baldwin as a person, or even as a crappy actor, I just find it a poor mark on the report card of a legitimate news organization to try and pass off a famewhoring, mediocre actor as an educated political commenter.
Such is my rant for the day. Cheers!
