Good evening all!
Can I just say how impressed I am with the group numbers this year? Tonight we have a contemporary piece choreographed by Blake to 'I Surrender' by Celine Dion. All period costume-y and dramatic. The boys look killer in their suits. If they hadn't have given a shout out to Blake, I would have put money on that being a Wade Robson piece. It was fantastic, and showcased them all extremely well. Good work, Blake.
After the requisite introductions from Leah, the first three couples are out for results. We have Lara and Miles, Francis and Natalli and Izaak and Kaitlyn. In the bottom 3 are Lara & Miles (WHAT???) and Francis and Natalli. Izaak and Kaitlyn are safe (WHAT????).

This is not right. After thinking about it last night, I thought that on the off chance Dannie and Allie were safe, then the next possibility could be Lara and Miles. Not that I thought either couple belonged in the bottom 3, but at this point in the game, someone's going to end up there that isn't deserving. HOWEVER. At no point did I reconsider the liklihood of Kaitlyn and Izaak ending up there. They both have fantastic potential, but not in this show, and not at the cost of two other more talented and mature dancers. I am not happy, Canada.
Now we've got Nico and Arassay, Allie and Danny and Lisa and Vincent. The final couple in the bottom 3 is Allie and Danny...ugh. I realize they aren't going anywhere, but still. It's not right.
These results are not right, Canada. We're voting, are you voting?
Miles is up first for solos. He's crazy and I have no clue what the song is. Feel free to enlighten me in the comments. I suck at song identification.
Now we've got Francis dancing to 'Ain't Nothing Wrong With That' by Robert Randolph and the Family Band. He's very theatrical and entertaining, but I'm not sure this shows enough of his skill.
Finally for the boys we've got Danny dancing to 'Save Your Scissors' by City and Colour. I'm kind of excited because we haven't gotten the chance to see Danny do a solo yet. He's really good.
Up first for the girls is Lara. She's dancing to 'Africa' by Toto. Lots of her killer flips and dramatic lurching. I like it.
Up next is Natalli dancing to something that sounds like Britney Spears, but I'm not certain. This might be good, but I just don't like her.
Finally, Allie's up dancing to a classical piece that I couldn't begin to try and identify. She's so great, and I'm excited for it for the same reason as I was for Danny. I can't judge the technicality, but I liked it.
Girls are up first for final judging. JM says the judging is not unanimous and that none of the three should be going home. Allie's safe and Natalli's safe. Lara's going home. Lara keeps the smile on her face and manages to hold it together really well. It's definitely not the decision I would have made. Lara's a far more attractive dancer than Natalli is. And this is where I'm most ticked off. Because no matter how I feel for Natalli, I wasn't thinking she should go home tonight, so I'm not bugged as much that she's still here, it's just that another dancer had to be sacrificed for Kaitlyn. Lara should not be going home, but I admire the grace she demonstrated right through to the end.
Watching Natalli up there, however, I could see she really thought she was the one being shown the door. And I felt for her when she was watching JM struggle with delivering the news and she mouthed "it's okay" - kind of like, "it's okay, just say it already, I know it's me..." - and I felt the first stirring of emotion for her. Yeah I know. I'm a sap.
Now we've got the guys. Tre says the decision was impossible to make and all three deserve the top 10. Danny's safe and Miles is safe. Francis is going home. Again, not the decision I would have made. As much as I like Miles, I think that once he's separated from Lara, he's going to be in some trouble. Francis has partnering skills that will transfer to other dancers. Francis keeps himself together until the very end. Leah's losing it. Same thoughts. None of them should have been on the block to actually leave. Bottom 3, fine. But home, no.
So we have our Top 10 and there are at least 2 dancers that do not deserve to be there. Izaak and Kaitlyn blew it last night. I'm hoping that next week when they're paired with different partners they don't manage to screw over two other perfectly good dancers.

I'm ready to make a Top 4 prediction overall. Nico and Vincent, Allie and Arassay. Not ready (nico) to call the overall winner yet (nico).
Yes, I'm bitter.
Cheers!
