Twilight and Retribution...

If you asked anyone who knows me whether they thought I'd be a fan of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer, most, if not all would say "no way!"

Yet...here I am. I devoured all four books (roughly 2500 pages total) in about a week and a half. I saw the movie this weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed it in all its cheesy splendor. Was it fantastic? No. But it was worth seeing and a decent starting point for what is sure to be a blockbuster series. Now that they've secured a larger production budget for the second movie (and gotten the green light for the second movie), it can only get better. Besides, Rob Pattinson could read the phone book on film and I'd still pay $10 bucks to see it.

It is also a movie I would see again for fun.

Now, I'm going to shift subjects slightly for moment. Carra occasionally finds movies that she thinks I'll love and...I won't say forces....but, persuades me to watch. Two of these have been 'Moulin Rouge' and 'Chicago'. HEY! I didn't force you OR persuade you to go and see Chicago! You OFFERED, missy... Moulin Rouge... okay, well, yeah. There might have been some forcing. Let's just say they're not in my must see again column. Oh yeah? Huh. Well. Considering I have both of them on DVD, AND you're staying at my house for 3 nights, you might well find them appearing in your dreams, playing through the night, absorbing into your consciousness while you sleep. And when you wake up humming "Oh yes oh yes oh yes they both oh yes they both oh yes they both reached for the gun the gun the gun the gun oh yes they both reached for the gun for the gun", and you don't know why?

So here is my question to you; Should I drag Carra to Twilight when I'm in Vancouver next week? She hasn't read any of the books and doesn't really know anything about the story. I'm thinking it could be kinda fun for me...

I'm going to put a poll up so you can vote. Does she deserve it for making me sit through Moulin Rouge? Or, in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, should I spare her? You could decide her fate!
